Anshu Kak is a Distinguished Engineer in IBM Software Group. At present she is the CTO SWG Cloud Computing (CTP), working on the strategy and direction of cloud computing for software group client technical professionals. She works with clients in architecting cloud solutions and co-lead for the IBM Cloud Computing Reference Architecture and member of IBM Cloud Computing Architecture Board. Has written various papers on cloud technology. Prior to that she was CTO for Middle East and Africa, to define and work on strategizing how to have IBM penetration in the region, and grow the sales and distribution technical team. Before that she led the Worldwide Software IT Architect Community for IBM. Anshu is recognized as a leader in the deployment of architecture and the design of complex end-to-end client solutions, leveraging her deep technical expertise in Enterprise Architecture, SOA and Cloud Computing. Anshu is TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) Certified Enterprise Architect. Anshu is focused on strengthening the skills of the Software IT Architect community and has a particular passion for developing the architecture skills of key growth markets including Russia, India, South Africa, Brazil and China. Anshu has worked with numerous clients like Aetna, Cigna, Citibank, Russian Pension Fund to name some. In addition Anshu has lead a very important initiatives for the Software Technical Professionals: the Software Deployment initiative where she has authored two books one is "Guidance to Successful Software Deployment" and “Value Realization from Efficient Software Deployment” . Anshu is a tenacious advocate of technical vitality both inside and outside of IBM and has written numerous papers. She has twice received the Women In Color Technology "All Star Award" from a national US level publication magazine. She is a member of IBM software group architecture board, IBM Academy of Techonolgy, Open Group, ACM, Cloud Customer Council and Women in Technology consortium. She is an IBM Ambassador to New York University New York and has presented in numerous IBM internal and external conferences. Anshu has masters in computer science with specialization in object oriented technology.
Bala Rajaraman has been with IBM since 1992 and is currently a Distinguished Engineer with responsibilities including the strategy architecture and design of Cloud and Service Management solutions. He is the Chief Architect for the PaaS aspects of the Next Generation Cloud Architecture. He is involved in the strategy, architecture and design of several products for cloud and service management and supports the strategy and implementation of solutions at several large clients. In the recent past, he has been responsible for various aspects of Cloud solutions and DevOps; Service Management including ITIL, Process Automation and Integration, and Provisioning and Automation tools; and performance of System z communication stacks. His areas of professional interest include communications technologies, systems performance, autonomic computing, and service and systems management. He holds over 25 patents in these areas. He received a Ph. D. in Computer engineering from Clemson University, South Carolina and a Masters in Computer Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia.
