A research professional with more than 20 years of experience in media and marketing research, Amy Doherty oversees the marketing research strategy and direction for UBM Tech. As Research Director, she is responsible for the design, fielding and data analysis for about 50 marketing research surveys a year, including studies such as Social Media and IT Marketing, online audience profiles, InformationWeek’s Best Practices series, and numerous custom analytical research surveys on a wide array of technology topics across various vertical markets.
Richard Hoffman is an InformationWeek contributor and former Senior Technology Editor for Network Computing, and has been coding, analyzing, and building systems for more than three decades since staring his first computer consulting business at the age of 14. After academic work in areas including artificial intelligence, computational linguistics, and knowledge representation, he has typically been found somewhere towards the bleeding edge of IT, including building portable/mobile and pre-802.11 wireless systems for the American Red Cross National Headquarters for use at large-scale national disaster relief sites, deploying one of the first websites with real-time remote updates and audio reporting from the field (with IBM, CNN and the Red Cross), building web-based, classroom and e-learning solutions for the teachers and 180000+ students at Fairfax Country Public Schools, leading Intranet/portal system architecture for the US Department of Health and Human Services, and directing Internet strategy and web operations for Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New England, as well as dealing with the perniciously sticky issues of governance, policy and process.
