Jason Buffington focuses primarily on data protection, along with Windows Server infrastructure, management, and virtualization. Prior to joining ESG, Jason was a Microsoft senior technical product manager for its System Center Operations Manager and Data Protection Manager products, along with Windows Server 2008/R2 file/storage features. He has been a certified business continuity planner (CBCP) and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Trainer (MSCE/MCT), and he was awarded as a Microsoft MVP in file system and storage solutions. Jason has been a featured speaker at many server-infrastructure, business continuity, and storage events around the world, and his articles have appeared in numerous IT industry journals. Jason studied computer science at Texas A&M University and participated in the university’s Corps of Cadets. He is a very active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a District Commissioner, Assistant Scoutmaster, and advisor in the Order of the Arrow.
