Mobile Technical Sales Leader - North America
Dustin Amrhein leads IBM's team of MobileFirst Solution Architects in North America. This team is responsible for helping organizations to define enterprise mobile strategies and to then aid in the evaluation, adoption, and implementation of solutions in support of those strategies. In this capacity Dustin works with many large companies in their evaluations of Mobile Application Development Platforms and in architectural considerations for successful mobile enterprises. Dustin joined IBM as a software engineer for the WebSphere Application Server where he worked on Web and REST services. Since that time, he has performed various roles including technical evangelism and technical sales. For the last four years, he has been focused on the cloud and mobile industries as our lead MobileFirst Solution Architect.
In a recent survey of C-level executives, 79% said they can make better and faster technology decisions than IT can. And yet in InformationWeek’s survey of IT pros, 72% said that their IT operations were fairly well or perfectly aligned to the needs of the business. Obviously there’s a disconnect, and here it is: IT leaders have done an admirable job of improving their agility and adopting new technologies like mobility, virtualization and cloud – but business leaders look around and see fully capable SaaS offerings that do exactly what they want right now, and competitors who look to be using technology far better than they are. So while IT has indeed gotten more business-aligned, executives and line of business leaders see even faster ways to bring in technology that don’t involve IT.
