Principal/CTO, StrategITcom, personifies nearly 40 years of global experience designing, running and auditing, data centers, IT departments, and intelligent buildings. She is an international keynote speaker. Having globally traveled roughly 4,000,000 miles, Carrie works with end users in enterprise, colocation, hosting and cloud facilities, smart cities, intelligent buildings, and ICT design. With a broad background in the Financial, Government, Healthcare, Education, Retail, Hospitality and Industrial/Manufacturing sectors, her background includes consulting and as a Fortune 500 IT executive, Carrie now provides technical direction and strategic planning spearheading CTOaaS providing fractional CTO services. She has developed and delivered over 800 hours of curriculum development, and has taught at a collegiate level.
Carrie was awarded an honorary doctorate from AATCU for contributions to the industry. She holds an RCDD/NTS, is on the IEEE Standards Association, and is a 2nd Degree Master Infrastructure Mason, CDCP and CDCS, CNID, AWS CCP, PSP and is SCRUM master certified. She has one telecommunications patent and two others submitted. She was named the 2020 Network Computing Inspiration Award finalist, Comptia Women in Leadership Spotlight finalist and honored as one of Analytics Insight’s 10 Most Influential Women in Technology 2020.
She is active in Women in Data Centers, BICSI, Women in BICSI, AFCOM, 7x24Exchange, WIMCO, Women Leading Technology, Cnet Technical Curriculum Advisory Board, Vice Chairwoman and Liaison for STEM for AATCU, IMasons Educational Advisor Board, WITI, and is CTO for Joint Force Solutions. She champions STEM education through outreach projects. Her podcast series, dedicated to trades, women and veterans in tech and data center careers, interviews some of the industry’s leaders. This outreach project is targeted to youth, and those considering careers within the industry aimed at solving the critical talent shortage. As an evangelist for women in the industry, she has chartered her company to be 50% female, with 50% of all partner referrals going to diversely owned organizations. She mentors up and coming talent at BICSI, 7×24 Exchange, AFCOM and other organizations.
Globally published, Carrie is a frequent industry blogger and expert contributing to over 250 publications in 69 countries. Carrie was awarded the “Communication News” Editor’s Choice Award for two years.
