The world of video services has reached a critical inflection point, facing unprecedented changes in consumer behavior, new market entrants, and a host of new business and technical challenges.
In a drastic shift from just a few years ago, consumers now expect that they can watch any content, anywhere, on any screen or any device, at any time. Although it’s an exciting time to be a consumer, it's quite a challenging time for service providers, mobile operators, and broadcasters and content providers seeking to meet these expectations.
A key concern for network operators and online providers is rolling out these new services in a faster and scalable manner. Another prime concern is developing and supporting the flexibility to manage video preparation and delivery across various networks, to various devices, in an optimal manner.
A strong foundational infrastructure is required to support such advanced applications and services.
